\n It already has a big appeal with holidaymakers that travel from all over the UK, and sometimes the world, to enjoy the golden sands and the dozens of fantastic events that the town hosts throughout the year. But Lyme Regis has, in the past, gained the gold stamp (or Golden Ticket) of approval from one of the biggest names in the acting industry right now.\n<\/p>\n
\n American and French actor Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, who has starred in some of the biggest films in recent years, from the acclaimed Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, or the most recent remake of the Louisa May Alcott novel Little Women, visited Lyme Regis while filming the 2021 film Wonka, based on Roald Dahl’s children’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.\n<\/p>\n
\n Throughout filming, the Cobb was transformed into a winter wonderland while Chalamet, who plays the younger version or the eccentric chocolatier, shot scenes on the seafront. A number of fans and intrigued residents turned out to witness it.\n<\/p>\n

\n The triple threat Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globes nominee is used to being flown all over the world and working in exotic locations, including Wadi Rum (Valley of the Moon) in Jordan for the vast remoteness of Dune and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.\n<\/p>\n
\n Despite the magnificent competition, Lyme Regis and the Southwest was highly praised by Chalamet when he visited.\n<\/p>\n
\n Speaking in an interview with Zoe Ball on BBC 2\u2019s Breakfast Show shortly after filming Wonka, he said: \u201cIt\u2019s been a joy. We were just in Lyme Regis which is a part of England I\u2019ve never been in \u2013 absolutely beautiful. We were hosted very nicely by everyone in the town, it\u2019s a beautiful place.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n He also spoke about his time in Bath, where he joked with Ball that he may get in trouble with locals with the way he pronounced the city name.\n<\/p>\n
\n A number of other celebrities were spotted alongside Chalamet during his brief time in the town, including comedian and actor Matt Lucas, who played the antagonist of the story, Prodnose.\n<\/p>\n
