George McGuigan is back in black! The powerhouse hooker has sealed a one-year deal with Newcastle Falcons, returning to his boyhood club after stints at Gloucester and Ospreys.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old fan favourite, who racked up 48 tries in 165 appearances across two spells at Kingston Park, is set to add firepower and leadership to a Falcons squad on the rise.<\/p>\n
Having first emerged from the club\u2019s academy ranks, McGuigan knows exactly what it means to wear the jersey. Now, after a rollercoaster year away, he\u2019s relishing the chance to finish what he started.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a very exciting time for the club and I\u2019m looking forward to being part of this new journey,\u201d McGuigan said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a tough year, so getting back to the club I call home means a lot. I\u2019ve got plenty left in the tank, and I want to show that on the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n
McGuigan left for Gloucester in late 2022 before joining the Ospreys to close out last season, but the pull of home has proved too strong.<\/p>\n
Newcastle boss Steve Diamond couldn\u2019t hide his excitement about the signing.<\/p>\n
