<\/p>\nThe TV star opened up on swapping for London to Exeter<\/p>\n

Comedian Josh Widdicombe has reportedly snapped up Noel Edmonds’ former house in Exeter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Last year, the Last Leg star confirmed he was swapping London for Exeter on his podcast, Parenting Hell, which he co-presents with fellow comedian Rob Beckett.<\/p>\n On one episiode of Parenting Hell, Josh opened up on falling for a house in the city.<\/p>\n “We are putting a bid on a house in Exeter”, Josh confirmed.<\/p>\n “We looked on it on Rightmove for about a month. Why don\u2019t we go down there, look at the school that\u2019s on the road. We really like it.”<\/p>\n Josh later gave an insight as to who used to own his new house.<\/p>\n “Just to be clear, it isn\u2019t in Crinkley Bottom \u2013 it isn\u2019t the house we used to see on Saturday nights on the TV”, he revealed on his podcast.<\/p>\n Crinkley Bottom was the fictional village featured in 90s show ‘Noel’s House Party’, hosted by Noel Edmonds alongside Mr Blobby, a pink and yellow spotted character.<\/p>\n But he did confirm that there was more than a hint of Mr Blobby about the place. “All of the wallpaper is pink and yellow, strangely”, he added.<\/p>\n Josh, a Plymouth<\/a> Argyle supporter, has recent history with Exeter. In 2024, he was awarded an honorary degree <\/a>by the University of Exeter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Josh, known for his popular podcasts, stand-up and television work, grew up on Dartmoor<\/a> and attended South Dartmoor Community College and Exeter College.<\/p>\n University of Exeter historian Professor Helen Berry helped Josh trace his royal links when he took part in the BBC<\/a> programme Who Do You Think You Are?.<\/p>\n He delighted those at the ceremony by reminiscing about his time in the South West and the jobs he took before finding fame, including at a petrol station in Totnes<\/a> and working on Dora the Explorer magazine.<\/p>\n He told the new graduates: \u201cI can speak from experience that this is a great city to be a student. You\u2019ve been spoiled. For the rest of your life will never live in a city with a better Wetherspoons than the Imperial. Enjoy it while you can.\u201d<\/p>\n 2025 was certainly a busy year for the Widdicombe family.<\/p>\n Josh and his wife, Rose Hanson, also bought a \u00a31 million mansion in Cornwall<\/a> with the hopes of renovating it and renting it out to eager holidaymakers.<\/p>\n
