Coronation Street star Tanisha Gorey was ‘still crying’ as she told fans she had got engaged.<\/p>\n
Tanisha, who plays Asha Alahan in the ITV<\/a> soap, was left emotional as boyfriend Lucas Whelan popped the question.<\/p>\n She took to Instagram to share some snaps of her showing off her diamond ring, alongside a pink and white cake which read “just engaged.”<\/p>\n READ MORE: BBC Michael McIntyre’s Big Show guest left ‘speechless’ by emotional reveal<\/a><\/p>\n One sweet snap showed Tanisha holding a huge bouquet of flowers in their hotel room, which had been decorated in red and silver balloons.<\/p>\n Behind her, a balloon display could be seen which spelt out “I love you.”<\/p>\n The soap favourite captioned the post: “Brb still crying,” which was accompanied by a tear, ring and heart emoji.<\/p>\n Her ITV co-stars and friends were quick to offer their congratulations.<\/p>\n Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe, said: “Fantastic news. So happy for you darling. Congratulations.”<\/p>\n Vicky Myers, who plays DS Lisa Swain, added: “Congratulations to you both. What fabulous news.”<\/p>\n Former Benidorm star Tony Maudsley, who swapped the beach for the Corrie cobbles to play undertaker George Shuttleworth, added: “Babes I’m really made up for you…. BUT I don’t think I got a bit of cake??”<\/p>\n Daniel Brocklebank, who played vicar Billy Mayhew until the character was recently killed off, also sent well wishes.<\/p>\n He wrote: “Ahhhhhhh congratulations.”<\/p>\n Tanisha has been a Coronation Street<\/a> regular since 2009, the Mirror <\/a>reports.<\/p>\n She’s had a string of heavy-duty storylines to contend with since Asha became a paramedic.<\/p>\n Her latest was in October when her character attempted to commit suicide.<\/p>\n Unbeknownst to her father, Dev, Asha had tried to overdose on pills but was fortunately found in the street and taken to the hospital, where she recovered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Coronation Street star Tanisha Gorey was ‘still crying’ as she told fans she had got engaged.
