Pictures<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after it was revealed that a key new female supporting character was being sought for James Gunn\u2019s \u201cMan of Tomorrow\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>When it was said the character had to be \u201ctall and have warrior-like qualities,\u201d speculation quickly exploded that the character would be Wonder Woman. Gunn subsequently shot down those reports, confirming the role isn\u2019t that.<\/p>\n<p>Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexuspointnews.com\/exclusive-dc-studios-man-of-tomorrow-will-introduce-maxima\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nexus Point News<\/a> is reporting that the mystery female role is that of Maxima \u2013 a character who will serve as a secondary antagonist to Brainiac (Lars Eidinger).<\/p>\n<p>The suggestion is that the film may borrow elements from the 1992 comic storyline \u201cPanic in the Sky,\u201d a crossover event in which Brainiac conquered Almerac and coerced Maxima into helping him invade Earth.<\/p>\n<p>The site also says: \u201cThere are also reports of another hero being cast for the film who could potentially join Superman and Lex Luthor to fight off Brainiac\u2019s invasion. Although unconfirmed, it\u2019s possible that the Justice Gang can return to join the heroes along with characters like Supergirl, Peacemaker, and Lobo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The film also stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent\/Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders\/Hawkgirl, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag, Sr. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMan of Tomorrow\u201d arrives in cinemas on July 9th 2027.
