Former Castleford Tigers man Greg Eden expects his former club to fare a lot better than they did last season after turning over a new leaf.<\/p>\n

Eden, who joined Championship outfit North Wales Crusaders over the off-season, has made 122 appearances for the Tigers over the course of his career having had two spells with the club. In that time he touched down on 112 occasions with 41 tries coming during the Tigers\u2019 2017 League Leaders\u2019 Shield winning season.<\/p>\n

And, given Castleford is the winger\u2019s hometown club, he still keeps a firm eye on their fortunes.<\/p>\n

The Tigers<\/a> have made a raft of signings ahead of the new season with the likes of Mikaele Ravalawa, Semi Valemei, Tom Weaver and Blake Taafe joining from down under, while a raft of signings have been made domestically too.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s fair to say the pressure is on Ryan Carr\u2019s side to perform and improve on last year\u2019s dismal showing then, but Eden expects them to rise to that challenge and make their presence felt in Super League.<\/p>\n

Greg Eden gives Castleford Tigers verdict<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve made some decent signings, haven\u2019t they,\u201d Eden told Serious About Rugby League.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt looks like all the starting backs will be all Australians with some good experience, some fast outside backs they\u2019ve got there. Yeah, it should be a little bit more of an improvement from last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my home town so I try and get down to a few of the games like I did last year, see some old pals and some familiar faces down there. I wish them really well and I think they\u2019ll do a lot better than they did last year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eden also counts Hull KR as a former club and while improving on last year\u2019s treble is going to be tricky for the Robins, the 35-year-old fancies them to retain that positive momentum.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey look to have strengthened,\u201d he added about Rovers. \u201cWhen you\u2019re in a position like what Hull KR are now, it attracts good players so even if you lose one or two, you can replace them because they\u2019ve played that well. I think they\u2019ll be in the same position as they were last year.\u201d<\/p>\n
