After the retirement of the shuttle in 2011, Pad A helped usher in a new era of human spaceflight as launch pad for the agency’s Commercial Crew Program, which returned human spaceflight capability to the United States. Pad B saw the launch of NASA’s Artemis I mission in November 2022 and will continue to be the primary launch pad for America’s efforts to return to humans the Moon.

August 1, 2025

More from Commercial Crew Program

NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 crew NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya…

[23
9956,18162,12385,13620,90,416,56,54,55,18164
post-38151","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-space","tag-commercial-crew","tag-e-michael-fincke","tag-international-space-station-iss","tag-kennedy-space-center","tag-science","tag-space","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom","tag-zena-cardman
["GET
