\n At its meeting on Thursday, January 22, the health and wellbeing board will be provided with an update on the integration of Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WHH) and Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCH).\n<\/p>\n
\n A report to the board says there are currently no financial implications for Warrington Borough Council directly related to the integration of WHH and BCH.\n<\/p>\n
\n It adds that the integration is essential to enabling the delivery of \u2018financially sustainable\u2019 healthcare services for the borough.\n<\/p>\n
\n According to a presentation, attached to a report to the board, Better Care Together is a programme of work being undertaken to integrate WHH \u2013 acute trust \u2013 and BCH \u2013 community trust \u2013 into a single organisation.\n<\/p>\n
\n It states this will improve care for patients, for example \u2018100 additional people per month\u2019 accessing urgent community response instead of attending the emergency department.\n<\/p>\n
\n Other reasons given for why it is \u2018so important\u2019 comprise that it generates a more efficient use of resources, with an estimated financial benefit up to \u00a333 million (\u00a312 million \u2018direct\u2019 and \u00a321 million \u2018indirect\u2019) \u2013 as well as supports staff development, and enables \u2018sustainable services\u2019.\n<\/p>\n
\n The document highlights that the full business case has been finalised, which has been approved by both trust boards.
