Harriet Cowan, who became a fan favourite on Clarkson’s Farm, has secured a presenting position on a new Channel 4 series. <\/p>\n

The 24-year-old will host the digital series Tiny Farmer programme alongside comedian Jessica Knappett, with the show having debuted on Channel 4’s YouTube channel on January 19.<\/p>\n

The format sees four youngsters competing to become egg farmers of the future, with challenges ranging from caring for hens to demonstrating their culinary abilities.<\/p>\n

Hen specialists Avril and Michael also feature, offering guidance on identifying contented chickens and explaining how eggs travel from farm to table.<\/p>\n

Stephen Parnell, Digital Commissioning Executive at Channel 4, praised the presenters’ “infectious enthusiasm” and their ability to connect “brilliantly with our young contestants as they compete to impress both hens and hosts.”<\/p>\n

Ms Cowan first appeared on screens during the fourth series of Clarkson’s Farm, which launched on Prime Video in May last year, stepping in to assist at Diddly Squat Farm while regular farmhand Kaleb Cooper was unavailable.<\/p>\n

The Derbyshire native had already cultivated a following of around 40,000 on TikTok before joining Jeremy Clarkson’s team, and it was through this social media presence that she caught the attention of producers.<\/p>\n

“Charlie [Ireland, Clarkson’s land agent] let me know they were looking for someone to come and help,” Ms Cowan explained. <\/p>\n

“I think they were keen for it to be a woman who could do that role and show they could do it well.”<\/p>\n

Fellow young farmers in her area were initially sceptical about the extent of her involvement, expecting little more than a background appearance.<\/p>\n

“They thought, ‘Ah, you’ll be in the back of the pub and they’ll have filmed the pub and the back of your head will be in it,'” she recalled. <\/p>\n

“So when it came out they were, like, ‘Oh s***, she is actually in it a bit more than I thought she was!'”<\/p>\n

The former nurse has since left her healthcare career behind to pursue agriculture full-time, though she continues to pick up occasional NHS bank shifts.<\/p>\n

“The cat’s somewhat out of the bag. It’s true, I am no longer nursing because it appears I got the bug,” Ms Cowan said. “I’ve always had it but before, you know, I didn’t really have any other income.”<\/p>\n

She has also launched her own YouTube channel, Harriet On The Farm, to document life on her family’s land.<\/p>\n

Ms Cowan has become a vocal advocate for British agriculture, spearheading the Farm24 campaign that encourages farmers nationwide to share content on social media over a 24-hour period.<\/p>\n

“Going forward I hope that the next generation of farms would be recognised more by the public and the government especially to put British farming on the map,” she said in a video from her family farm.<\/p>\n

“I think it’s a bit of a dying industry otherwise.”<\/p>\n

Her connection to the land runs deep, with her grandparents purchasing the Derbyshire farm in the 1950s, which her father continues to work today.<\/p>\n
