A former Member of Parliament for Yendi MP, Dr Farouk Aliu Mahama, has said Ghana\u2019s unemployment problem cannot be solved by the government alone and that the private sector must play a leading role in creating jobs.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a political discussion, he explained that while governments have introduced various job programmes over the years, the scale of unemployment requires stronger collaborations with private businesses to provide sustainable employments.<\/p>\n

He referred to initiatives like the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), introduced during the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and <\/a>Dr Mahamudu Bawumia<\/a> administration, stressing that it reflects the experience of Dr Bawumia in tackling job creation.<\/p>\n

However, Farouk Mahama noted that Dr Bawumia\u2019s plans for 2028 will be different from what was presented in the NPP\u2019s 2024 manifesto. <\/p>\n

According to him, the former vice president is working on a fresh vision, including consultations and committees to shape new ideas.<\/p>\n

He added that job creation should be decentralised, with each constituency focusing on its specific needs. <\/p>\n

Using Yendi as an example, he said agriculture and related activities could create jobs if they are properly supported through the national budget.<\/p>\n

Dr Farouk Mahama also highlighted sectors such as agriculture, mining and industrial development as key areas where private sector involvement could help reduce unemployment.<\/p>\n

He urged Ghanaians to wait for <\/a>Dr Mahamudu Bawumia<\/a>\u2019s full policy outline, but stressed that private sector-led growth will be central to future job creation efforts.<\/p>\n
