The singer-songwriter, daughter of Foo Fighters<\/a>\u2018 Dave Grohl<\/a>, shared the David Lynch<\/a>-inspired track to coincide with the first anniversary of the legendary filmmaker\u2019s death<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThis song was written in David Lynch\u2019s memory alongside two of my favourite collaborators in the world, Persia Numan, and Justin Raisen,\u201d explained Violet of the haunting cut.<\/p>\n \u201cA few days after the chaos and devastation of the LA fires, we came together in our sadness and grief and let it pour out into this song.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cWe hope you can find some resonance in it. His death certificate also cited dehydration as a significant factor.<\/p>\n The LA wildfires<\/a> are said to have caused a decline in the Twin Peaks<\/a> icon\u2019s health, after he was forced to evacuate from his home along Sunset Boulevard<\/a>. Lynch had shared his emphysema diagnosis<\/a> in 2024, and later said he needed supplemental oxygen to walk.<\/a><\/p>\n Violet Grohl released another single, \u2018THUM\u2019, last month<\/a>, along with the B-side \u2018Applefish\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m beyond excited to finally share a little bit of what I\u2019ve been working on over the last year,\u201d wrote the 19-year-old artist at the time. \u201cI made these tracks with the most badass group of musicians, so happy they\u2019re finally yours :).\u201d<\/p>\n In late 2024, it was reported that she was working on her debut solo album<\/a> with producer Justin Raisen (Kim Gordon<\/a>,\u00a0Charli XCX<\/a>,\u00a0Sky Ferreira<\/a>). Dave previously expressed his desire to appear on Violet\u2019s first record<\/a>.<\/p>\n Violet later released a cover version of \u2018Nausea\u2019, originally by Los Angeles punks X, alongside her father Dave<\/a> in 2021. She\u00a0began hitting the road with Foo Fighters in 2018<\/a>, providing backing vocals at numerous gigs.<\/p>\n She also performed with them at the\u00a0tribute concerts<\/a> held for late Foos drummer Taylor Hawkins<\/a> in 2022, and featured on the band\u2019s\u00a02023 song \u2018Show Me How\u2019<\/a>.
