Hull KR have confirmed details for their third round Challenge Cup tie with a stadium switch confirmed as previously reported.<\/p>\n

Serious About Rugby League shared the news that Hull KR\u2019s third round clash with amateur club Lock Lane was in line to be reversed<\/a>, with the Challenge Cup holders set to host the game, as opposed to the community club.<\/p>\n

That has now been confirmed with Hull KR taking to social media to announce details of the game, the only match for round three that has been confirmed so far.<\/p>\n

Lock Lane progressed from the first round by beating Brighouse<\/a> but their scheduled second round opponents Featherstone Rovers have since gone into administration, meaning they earned a bye to face Hull KR in the third round.<\/p>\n

Knowing that in advance has allowed both clubs to work together to rearrange the game to be played at Craven Park with Lock Lane Sports Centre not an entirely suitable venue for the game and the occasion.<\/p>\n

Taking to social media, Hull KR announced: \u201cHull KR can confirm that our Betfred Challenge Cup Third Round tie against Lock Lane will kick off at 8pm on Friday 6th February at Sewell Group Craven Park.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hull KR lock in Challenge Cup venue change<\/p>\n

With the Challenge Cup format the way it is, whereby Super League sides are seeded away from home when they enter in the third round, the practice of changing venue is not uncommon.<\/p>\n

It happened numerous times in 2025 with a handful of games moving to neutral venues, including West Hull\u2019s game against St Helens being relocated to Hull KR\u2019s Craven Park<\/a>, but there was also an example of a Super League side hosting their own match.<\/p>\n

Leeds Rhinos hosted London-based Wests Warriors at Headingley with Brad Arthur\u2019s side running out easy winners and it could well be the case that other Super League sides find themselves in the same situation this year.<\/p>\n

The second round of the Challenge Cup will be played this weekend meaning we will then know which Super League sides are set for trips to community clubs, thereby which games could be rearranged like this Hull KR game has been.<\/p>\n
