The family of a “beautiful” little girl who died in a car park the day before her 9th birthday <\/a>have backed the Asthma and Allergy Foundation.<\/p>\n Olivia Grace Edwards, eight, died after taking unwell at a car park in Aberdeen on Saturday October 25. Despite the youngster being rushed to the Royal Aberdeen Children\u2019s Hospital for treatment, she was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.<\/a><\/p>\n Months on from the tragedy, her heartbroken parents Mark, 40 and Georgina, 33, have revealed their daughter died after suffering a fatal asthma attack<\/a>. Dad Mark believes that if the family had been given more support when Olivia was first diagnosed, they might be “living through a very different outcome\u201d.<\/p>\n The family are now fundraising in support <\/a>of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation.<\/p>\n Olivia Grace Edwards(Image: GoFundMe)<\/p>\n Mark said: “In October 2025 we lost our beautiful little girl, Olivia Grace<\/a>, to an acute asthma attack. We believe that if we had been given the correct support and guidance since Olivia\u2019s diagnosis of asthma, we would be living through a very different outcome. We have chosen to support the Asthma and Allergy Foundation as we believe there should be more resources readily available for families dealing\/living with asthma.”<\/p>\n Mark and Georgina will take part in Aberdeen Kiltwalk\u2019s \u2018Wee Wander\u2019 on June 7. All funds raised will go towards the foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n Mark continued: “We will be taking <\/a>part in the ‘Wee Wander’ in memory of Olivia and to raise as much as we can for this charity. We are grateful for anyone willing to help us!”<\/p>\n Olivia was remembered as a “beautiful” and “happy” girl by those who knew her.<\/p>\n Speaking at the time of her death, family friend Kathryn Campbell, 33, said: “Olivia was a beautiful funny sweet amazing little girl and is going to be missed <\/a>so much by all who knew her.”<\/p>\n The Asthma and Allergy Foundation said Mark and Georgina’s efforts <\/a>were “truly remarkable”.<\/p>\n A statement reads: “In October 2025, Mark and Georgina lost their beautiful little girl, Olivia Grace, to an acute asthma attack<\/a>. Their world changed forever in an instant and their courage in sharing her story in the hope of protecting other families is nothing short of extraordinary.<\/p>\n “They believe that had they received the correct support and guidance from the moment Olivia was diagnosed with asthma, the outcome might have been very different. In their deepest grief<\/a>, Mark and Georgina have chosen a remarkable way to honour Olivia\u2019s memory by supporting a cause that helps protect and improve the lives of other children and families facing respiratory and allergy\u2011related risks.<\/p>\n “They are raising vital funds for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation (AAF), to help us deliver lifesaving education, support, and emergency response programmes for families living with asthma <\/a>and severe allergies. They are determined to ensure that other parents never have to walk this path.
