\n Douglas McAllister, chair of the Dalmuir Golf Course Charitable Trust, says members are ‘disgusted’ after two incidents of bikes being recklessly ridden across the course have occurred in the past week.\n<\/p>\n
\n Members visited the course on Sunday to find extensive damage to the green including tyre marks, ripped up grass and trails of mud.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, the incident is sadly not isolated.\n<\/p>\n
\n McAllister said: “It is so utterly disheartening for all of us. The Board of Trustees, our members, our staff and all of our wonderful volunteers. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n “It disgusts everyone involved with our charity, so we appeal to everyone, please respect our community run Dalmuir Golf Course to allow everyone to enjoy the course at its best.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n “The use of motor bikes and e-bikes on our course causes extensive damage and additional cost and work for everyone involved at our golf course to restore back to playing conditions again.”
The incident then occurred again on Wednesday, January 21.\n<\/p>\n

\n The off-road vehicle was spotted careening through the green around 9.01pm before officers attempted to stop the rider.\n<\/p>\n
\n In doing so, they say they managed to cause the man to drop the motorbike before making off on foot and the bike has since been seized.\n<\/p>\n
\n Officers have since launched an investigation into the incident and say they are following a positive line of enquiry as the attempt to identify the responsible person.\n<\/p>\n

\n McAllister added: “Our volunteers and our greenkeeper have worked incredibly hard since July 1, 2025 to restore the condition of our much-loved golf course, and in fact, thanks to their efforts, the course is in an incredible condition and being thoroughly enjoyed by season ticket holders and lots of local residents.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
