When Saltburn star Jacob Elordi isn\u2019t shambling around as the Creature in Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Frankenstein, or making Margot Robbie swoon in Emerald Fennell\u2019s Wuthering Heights<\/a>, he\u2019s lining up the dominos of his future, ready to knock them down with another powerhouse performance. While Elordi is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, he could get busier. According to multiple reports<\/a>, though specifically Roger Friedman, Elordi is being heavily considered for the role of James Bond in Denis Villeneuve\u2019s upcoming film.<\/p>\n

Will Elordi become the next James Bond?<\/p>\n

Chatter about Elordi taking on the iconic role has circulated for months. Still, fresh whispers about him meeting with Villeneuve and Amazon MGM Studios have people thinking he could become the youngest actor to play 007 in the franchise\u2019s history. In his report for Showbiz 411<\/a>, Friedman says Amazon desperately wants Elordi to be the next Bond, though no formal offer has transpired. Even if Amazon has Elordi in its sights, he\u2019d still need to screen test for the role, but I\u2019ve no doubt he\u2019d nail the audition. Additionally, as much as Amazon may want Elordi for the role, Villeneuve still gets to weigh in on whose martini gets shaken, not stirred.<\/p>\n

Elordi\u2019s got the chops<\/p>\n

After working with celebrated filmmakers like Sofia Coppola, Emerald Fennell, Paul Schrader, Guillermo del Toro, and Ridley Scott, Elordi is well-versed in the art of making major motion pictures. I could see him slipping into the role of Bond with ease, and given his popularity, the blowback to his casting could be minimal. I say this because the back-and-forth of the 007 franchise has been a Hollywood headache for several years. We obviously have no say in the matter, but as people who report on this stuff, it\u2019s sometimes a chore to keep up with the water cooler nonsense, bickering, and rumors. One day, we\u2019ll know the fate of iconic characters, and oh, what a feeling that will be.<\/p>\n

What do you think about the possibility of Jacob Elordi becoming the next James Bond? He\u2019s dashing, handsome, charismatic, and could play the role for years to come if things work out for the best. It could be challenging to lock him down for so long, considering he\u2019s a young, Oscar-nominated actor<\/a>, but stranger things have happened.
