David Puig is bucking the trend on LIV Golf. <\/p>\n
With Ryder Cup heroes Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton among those locked in a legal battle<\/a> over sanctions imposed on them by the DP World Tour, one of the league\u2019s brightest young talents has just joined the Wentworth-based circuit as a full-time member.<\/p>\n Before his year, LIV have settled the fines handed down to DP World Tour members playing on the rival league without a tournament release. In his two seasons since joining LIV, Rahm has revealed he\u2019s racked up $3 million in penalties.<\/p>\n But the taps have now been turned off by LIV\u2019s benefactors \u2013 the Saudi Public Investment Fund. So until the appeal for Rahm and Hatton is heard, players will now need to fork out from their own pockets to play on two separate tours.<\/p>\n That\u2019s a sacrifice Puig is willing to make to play on the tour which he grew up watching.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to be\u00a0part of the tour so I\u2019ll do everything I can and to you know to keep being part of it,\u201d Puig tells TG at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic<\/a>. \u201cIf\u00a0that means paying whatever amount I\u2019ll do it and obviously they\u2019ve got to find a solution.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u201cI feel like which at some point I think they would and hopefully we all\u00a0have the same rules and whatever they decide at the end it\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s expensive, but I\u2019m willing to do that and that\u2019s why I joined the tour. We\u2019ll see what\u00a0happens. In my case you know I\u2019m willing to\u00a0do as much as I can to be part of this tour.\u201d<\/p>\n
