The last time a K-pop artist topped the Official Singles Chart was all the way back in 2012, when PSY<\/a>\u2019s Gangnam Style<\/a> made history as the UK\u2019s first-ever K-pop Number 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Martin Talbot, Chief Executive Officer, Official Charts, comments:<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s 13 years since PSY\u2019s Gangnam Style became the first K-Pop Number 1 in the UK, way back in October 2012, but this week represents another landmark moment for the globally dominating South Korean genre.<\/p>\n

“While the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack tops the Official Compilations Chart again this week, the film also claims Number 1 in the Official Singles Chart through HUNTR\/X\u2019s Golden.<\/p>\n

“For the many music fans who have been to their enormous concerts, bought their merch and streamed their iconic songs, this will forever be the summer of Oasis – but K-pop\u2019s superstars are certainly giving the Gallaghers a run for their money.”<\/p>\n

The last time a track from an animated picture topped the Official Singles Chart was 2022, when We Don\u2019t Talk About Bruno<\/a> from Disney\u2019s Encanto became the first ever original song from a Disney animation to become a UK Number 1 single<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Some other animated characters\/puppets who have topped the UK Official Chart over the years include:<\/p>\n

Two more tracks from Kpop Demon Hunters make the Top 20 – Saja Boys, Andrew Choi and Neckwav\u2019s Your Idol<\/a> jumps four to break the Top 10 for the first time (10), as Soda Pop<\/a> leaps six (11).\u00a0<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s highest new entry comes courtesy of Drake<\/a> and Central Cee<\/a>, whose team-up Which One<\/a> earns the pair a 47th and 11th Top 10 single respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a second Top 10 for Tinashe<\/a>, as Disco Lines<\/a>\u2019 reworking of No Broke Boys<\/a> catapults four (8). The Kentucky-born star last saw Top 10 success with Snakehips and Chance The Rapper collab All My Friends<\/a> (5).\u00a0<\/p>\n

With Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> laid to rest in his beloved Birmingham this week, the Black Sabbath<\/a> legend\u2019s catalogue continues to surge this week. Sabbath\u2019s Paranoid<\/a> lifts 12 places into the Top 20 (20), Ozzy\u2019s Crazy Train<\/a> claims a new peak (25), while Black Sabbath\u2019s Iron Man secures the overall highest climb on this week\u2019s Official Singles Chart Top 100, up 45 places to Number 48.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A sombr<\/a> summer? New York native Shane Boose secures three singles inside this week\u2019s Top 40 concurrently: latest cut 12 to 12<\/a> (31), undressed<\/a> (32) and back to friends<\/a> (33).\u00a0<\/p>\n

And finally, ahead of the release of third album I\u2019m Only F**king Myself<\/a>, Lola Young<\/a> lands her third Top 40 single with d\u00a3aler<\/a> (34).<\/p>\n
