Picture: Callum Nugent<\/p>\n<p>A white BMW 1 Series caught alight at about 6pm, sparking a large emergency response.<\/p>\n<p>The car was on the hard shoulder just past the Junction 4 off-slip, but police held traffic while the incident was dealt with.<\/p>\n<p>Two fire engines were called to the scene, and one person was treated by paramedics.<\/p>\n<p>The route was clear by 7.30pm, and the cause is not yet known.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 550 419\" alt=\"Traffic was held on the M2 while the incident was dealt with.
