{"id":388829,"date":"2026-01-25T00:29:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T00:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/388829\/"},"modified":"2026-01-25T00:29:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-25T00:29:07","slug":"dalton-smith-predicts-teofimo-lopez-vs-shakur-stevenson-and-wants-to-fight-the-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/388829\/","title":{"rendered":"Dalton Smith predicts Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson and wants to fight the winner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Newly crowned WBC super-lightweight world champion <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/dalton-smith-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dalton Smith<\/a> has revealed his prediction for <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/teofimo-lopez\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Teofimo Lopez<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/shakur-stevenson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shakur Stevenson<\/a>\u2019s WBO title clash and admitted that he is eyeing up a fight with the victor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/fighters-react-to-dalton-smith-matias\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Smith knocked out Subriel Matias in Brooklyn last weekend<\/a> to secure one of the most impressive away wins from a British fighter in recent memory and open up the door for future world title showdowns in Sheffield.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the month, another super-lightweight world title contest heads to New York, as Lopez seeks to defend his WBO crown against three-division world champion Shakur Stevenson, in one of the most hotly anticipated bouts of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/boxing\/news\/12183\/13494662\/dalton-smith-i-am-ready-to-take-on-shakur-stevenson-or-teofimo-lopez-in-unification-bout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sky Sports<\/a>, Smith revealed that he expects Stevenson to come away with the victory after confirming that he will likely be in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will probably be over there watching it. It is a great fight and obviously I have my eyes on that as a potential opponent for those guys next. It is going to be good, and it is going to be a great fight,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am favouring Shakur (Stevenson) on points.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith then went on to reveal his willingness to take on both the biggest names and his fellow champions in the 140lb division.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[I will fight] either. I always said I want to be a world champion, a WBC world champion, and I will fight whoever to do that,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did that, and it will be the same process for the future ahead. You fight whoever you have got to fight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will take each fight at a time, but we\u2019ll see how far we get.
