Yungblud<\/a> has responded to online backlash after he was pictured alongside Rammstein <\/a>frontman Till Lindemann<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2023,\u00a0several women came forward claiming that Lindemann drugged and recruited them to engage in sexual activity<\/a>, allegations that\u00a0the singer\u2019s\u00a0legal team said were \u201cwithout exception untrue\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Later that year,\u00a0German prosecutors dropped their investigation against him<\/a>, saying the \u201cevaluation of the available evidence\u201d had not \u201cproduced any indications that the accused has carried out sexual acts on women against their will\u201d or drugged them \u201cin order to persuade them to have sex\u201d.<\/p>\n

Both Yungblud and Rammstein played recent tours of Australia, and they met while they had both stopped off in Perth and a photo of them together was posted to Lindemann\u2019s Instagram account. \u201cAbsolute pleasure meeting @yungblud in Perth,\u201d he wrote. \u201cHave fun in Mumbai!\u201d<\/p>\n

While no criminal charges were filed against Lindemann, the ensuing controversy significantly affected perceptions him, and fans in the comments urged Yungblud to address it while expressing \u201cdisappointment\u201d in him.<\/p>\n

In response, he posted an audio statement on social media (via Consequence<\/a>). \u201cI had no idea,\u201d he said. \u201cObviously at the minute\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0meeting lots of people every day without fully knowing who they are or\u00a0what\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0about. And\u00a0I\u00a0can\u00a0assure you, if I knew about any allegations, it would have been a completely different story. You all know what I stand for, always.\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0be more aware of it in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lindemann was dropped by his book publisher following the allegations<\/a>. In 2024,\u00a0he filed a lawsuit against German news outlet\u00a0Der Spiegel\u00a0over their coverage of the story<\/a>, alleging their reporting included falsified documents and an attempt to commit trial fraud.\u00a0A court ruled in Lindemann\u2019s\u00a0favour\u00a0last year.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere,\u00a0Yungblud\u00a0recently teased the second part of his double album \u2018IDOLS\u2019<\/a>, the first part of which was released last June.\u00a0\u201cThe first part is about self-reclamation and flying, learning how to get your wings,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cThe next bit is\u00a0the real\u00a0realism \u2014 how do you live in the real world as this person\u00a0you\u2019ve\u00a0discovered?\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a little bit more cynical.\u201d\u00a0There is still no release date for the next instalment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In April, meanwhile,\u00a0he will play a pair of \u201cup close and personal\u201d shows in London and Kingston<\/a>, while he has also been announced on the line-ups for\u00a0Bonnaroo<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Pinkpop<\/a>\u00a0next year.<\/p>\n
