New artwork in a town centre has sparked intrigue – and has even drawn comparisons to elusive street artist Banksy.<\/p>\n
The piece depicting a child playing a harmonica and guitar has appeared in Sayers Lane, Tenterden.<\/p>\n

It has been signed by Hendog, a Hampshire-based street artist who keeps their identity anonymous.<\/p>\n
They shared photos of the work – titled Small Town Blues – on their Instagram page.<\/p>\n
The graffiti can be found on the wall of clothing shop Ibbidi Bobbidi Boo.<\/p>\n
Social media users have been full of praise for the art, with Christine Thompson describing the work as \u201ctop-notch\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not a Banksy but just as good in my view,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Hendog created two pieces in Dover in 2023<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you to the artist for making a boring corner interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jeff Martin commented: \u201cI\u2019d say there\u2019s more detail in that work than a Banksy.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a tricky one as I personally think it\u2019s lovely and whoever did it is truly talented but would I feel the same if it was on my house?<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not a mess, and it\u2019s not political, and it\u2019s interesting and beautiful in a way, definitely art, not vandalism.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlus, if it brings more people to the high street, then it\u2019s a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Marcus Ades added: \u201cAmazing stencil work. Very intricate. They are anonymous like Banksy, well-known in street art circles.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an honour to have their art in Tenterden.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others hoped it would be the start of more artwork appearing in the town.<\/p>\n
Maggie Rennie said: \u201cLove it. Maybe a few more should be scattered around the town?\u201d<\/p>\n
It is not the first time artwork by Hendog has been spotted in Kent.<\/p>\n
