This week, the NFL tapped the longtime Trump critics<\/a> to perform a special 60th anniversary Super Bowl tribute during the game\u2019s opening ceremony. The rock trio, comprised of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tr\u00e9 Cool, is expected to perform a handful of their best-known hits, while previous Super Bowl MVP<\/a>s are welcomed onto the field.<\/p>\n Green Day\u2019s addition to the 2026 Super Bowl performance lineup <\/a>comes months after the NFL faced backlash from Trump and his MAGA base for inviting Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny to headline the big game\u2019s halftime show<\/a>. They\u2019re pissed off and he\u2019s preyed on their anger. He just said, \u2018You have no options and I\u2019m the only one, and I\u2019m going to take care of it myself.\u2019 I mean, that\u2019s f***ing Hitler, man!\u201d<\/p>\n Armstrong, who previously vocalized strong anti-President George W. Bush sentiments, added: \u201cI wish I were over-exaggerating. And sometimes maybe I do over-exaggerate with Bush.
