The Ukrainian Armed Forces will become one of\u00a0the first militaries in\u00a0the world to\u00a0use fully autonomous robotic kitchens to\u00a0feed soldiers, as\u00a0part of\u00a0a\u00a0procurement deal with the German company Circus Defence. <\/p>\n

The contract covers<\/a> the deployment of\u00a0up\u00a0to\u00a025\u00a0CA-1 systems for the 3rd Army Corps, according to\u00a0official statements from the manufacturer.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Circus Defence, the CA-1 Series 4\u00a0is\u00a0an\u00a0autonomous AI-powered field kitchen capable of\u00a0preparing, serving, and sanitizing up\u00a0to\u00a0120\u00a0meals per hour without human intervention. <\/p>\n

The system, introduced in\u00a02025, features dual robotic arms that manage the full cooking cycle\u2014from ingredient selection and stirring to\u00a0plating and cleaning.<\/p>\n

Each unit is\u00a0designed to\u00a0operate in\u00a0demanding environments, such as\u00a0military training grounds and rear bases, and can deliver up\u00a0to\u00a0500\u00a0servings per load. <\/p>\n

The system also adjusts stirring speeds and heat levels automatically based on\u00a0the dish, using real-time ingredient tracking sensors. Cleaning is\u00a0performed between meals via an\u00a0integrated self-wash and disinfection cycle.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe CA-1 enables 24\/7 meal service, reducing kitchen staff needs by\u00a0up\u00a0to\u00a095%,\u201d the company stated on\u00a0its official website. Preparation time per dish ranges from three to\u00a0four minutes.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry plans to\u00a0deploy the new systems at\u00a0tactical training bases used by\u00a0the 3rd Army Corps. Initial reports about the agreement surfaced in\u00a0December 2025, outlining that the CA-1 units would support food logistics during extended drills and high-tempo operations.<\/p>\n

The systems will be\u00a0used to\u00a0ensure round-the-clock access to\u00a0freshly prepared meals regardless of\u00a0shift schedules or\u00a0operational tempo, a\u00a0need often cited by\u00a0militaries operating in\u00a0dispersed or\u00a0mobile environments.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukraine\u2019s 4th Rapid Response Brigade \u201cRubizh\u201d conducted<\/a> 34\u00a0missions using ground robotic systems on\u00a0the Donetsk front, delivering over 7\u00a0tons of\u00a0supplies, evacuating 21\u00a0wounded soldiers, and retrieving both fallen servicemembers and damaged equipment.<\/p>\n
