This update comes a month after the launch of iOS 26.2, which brought changes to Liquid Glass, CarPlay, and much more.

The latest update pairs with the newly announced AirTag 2, which has a louder speaker and extended range for Precision Finding thanks to an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip inside.

Per the release notes, “this update provides support for AirTag (2nd generation) along with bug fixes.”

Apple is also testing iOS 26.3, likely arriving in February, which is expected to enhance texting capabilities with Android phones. We also expect iOS 26.3 to introduce a notification forwarding feature in markets where legally required.

Later this spring, we expect iOS 26.4 to be a much more exciting software update. Just this week, Apple confirmed months of reporting that it has tapped Google’s Gemini AI model to be the engine behind the next iteration of Apple Intelligence and the overdue upgrade to Siri.

How to install iOS 26.2.1

You can find the update now by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone.

FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.

Apple today has officially released iOS 26.2.1 for iPhone.
