Four-time super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch has shared his thoughts on the comeback of Tyson Fury<\/a>, who is expected to return to action in April.<\/p>\n

Fury hung up the gloves after consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk during 2024, but an announcement for the return of \u2018The Gypsy King\u2019 seems imminent.<\/p>\n

After 13 months away from the ring, the two-time heavyweight ruler is being linked to a showdown with Russia\u2019s Arslanbek Makhmudov<\/a>, hoping to kickstart a title charge and possibly tee up a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua.<\/p>\n

Yet, whilst many fans eagerly wait Fury\u2019s comeback, Carl Froch told his YouTube channel<\/a> that he is unbothered by the news.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing back into boxing at 37 years old, when he has been out for over a year, is anybody bothered? Does anybody care? I don\u2019t want to slander him because it\u2019s Tyson Fury and he is great; he has been a great servant to boxing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is a brilliant character, and I don\u2019t want to give him any stick but I\u2019m not f***ing a***d if he comes back to boxing or not. I\u2019m not bothered; I don\u2019t care anymore.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has retired five times. When he retired last, I knew that he was going to come back out of retirement. I think that the only reason that he should be coming back and the only fight worth looking at would be the \u2018AJ\u2019 fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Froch then went on to question Fury\u2019s potential choice of opponent, labelling Makhmudov as \u2018European level\u2019 before naming a couple of his own suggestions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is an argument that Fury lost to [Francis] Ngannou, there\u2019s one loss, but he got the decision, then he lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are three fights there where he has been beat, really, and now he is coming back after over a year out, it doesn\u2019t make any sense, it\u2019s pointless.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re going to come back and fight and try to be a top boy, and you want to get back into the mix at world level, jump in there with someone like Moses Itauma or [Agit] Kabayel.\u201d<\/p>\n
