Anthony Joshua<\/a>\u2019s career-long promoter Eddie Hearn believes the former two-time heavyweight champion will resume his career.
Joshua’s future has been a hot topic ever since he survived a fatal car accident in Nigeria last month<\/a> that killed two of his closest confidants, strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami and trainer Latif Adoyele.
Matchroom Boxing\u2019s Hearn met with Joshua last week and offered an update Saturday while in attendance in Las Vegas promoting Raymond Muratalla’s successful IBF lightweight title defense against Andy Cruz<\/a> on DAZN. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere is hardly any boxing talk at the moment [with Joshua],\u201d said Hearn. \u201cIt was good to see him. Obviously, he has a lot to get over after the tragic accident and mourn the loss of his two closest friends and integral parts of his team. <\/p>\n

“Physically and emotionally, he’s recovering, and boxing will be a conversation probably in the coming months, maybe, rather than weeks. I know Anthony is a competitor and loves the game, but right now we’re giving him the space he needs to heal.\u201d <\/p>\n

Joshua\u2019s life-altering crash occurred on December 29, 10 days after he knocked out Jake Paul in six rounds<\/a>. Before the accident, Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) was trending toward a quick return for a fight in February<\/a>.
Now, the boxing world wonders if he\u2019ll ever enter the ring again, especially as a long-anticipated clash against Tyson Fury<\/a> (34-2-1, 24 KOs) finally appeared to be crossing the finishing line. <\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like he will return to the sport,\u201d said Hearn. \u201cWhen the time is ready, if that time even comes again, it will come from Anthony Joshua.\u201d <\/p>\n
