{"id":392828,"date":"2026-01-27T08:55:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T08:55:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/392828\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T08:55:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T08:55:07","slug":"cyclist-completes-23000km-melbourne-to-melbourne-ride","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/392828\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyclist completes 23,000km Melbourne to Melbourne ride"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He began the journey with friends Chris Wignell and Jimmy Rice who travelled in a camper van, before he continued alone for long stretches and met different support crews along the route.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Friends joined him for sections along the route, while he completed the ride on a road bike with his equipment carried separately.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Their efforts raised more than \u00a35,700 via a JustGiving page.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Goliah added: &#8220;There&#8217;s different ways people do it on a bike, but I wanted to do it in six months, so I did it on a road bike and had support carrying the bags.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;One of my favourite parts of travel is embracing local culture.
