On forging separate career paths from Connor Storrie and actively choosing not to do public things together: \u201cIt\u2019s been really nice, because Connor and I are aligned. We want to be different artists. We don\u2019t want to be the Olsen twins<\/a>. We want to be Connor and Hudson, with different filmographies and different deals. As much as we love each other, our friendship doesn\u2019t need to be public. Jacob [Tierney]<\/a> has that quote: \u2018Shane and Ilya are for the public. Connor and Hudson are for themselves.\u2019 And that\u2019s how we feel.\u201d <\/p>\n

He added, \u201cPeople want to see us front row together all the time, but we actively avoid that, because it starts to feel like branding. If you\u2019re always seen together, you become attached at the hip. I FaceTime him whenever I\u2019m free. But if we\u2019re offered the same fashion shows, we\u2019re like, \u2018Which one are you going to? Okay, I\u2019ll go to a different one.\u2019 We\u2019re stubborn, selfish artists who want to be our own people. We\u2019re like, \u2018I love you. I don\u2019t want to do everything with you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

On his biggest pinch me moment so far: \u201cMy pinch-me moment\u2026the Golden Globes<\/a> was crazy, because I got to meet all these celebrities I\u2019d always been a fan of, and now I\u2019m talking to them, and they know who I am. But the closest I\u2019ve come to crying with gratitude was when I was on Evan Ross Katz\u2019s podcast<\/a> and he got Michelle Williams<\/a> on the line.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cShe called into the podcast and was like, \u2018I\u2019m a fan of your work.\u2019 I couldn\u2019t really hear what she said. As soon as she said her name, I f-cking blacked out,\u201d Hudson continued. \u201cI was on the verge of tears, ready to combust. I had to hold everything down so I wouldn\u2019t be in inconsolable sobs for the rest of the interview. Then Evan goes, \u2018How does it feel that the people who inspired you might now be inspired by you?\u2019 And I was just choking everything down, using all my willpower. I almost sobbed. That was the biggest pinch-me moment.\u201d <\/p>\n
