My 600-lb Life<\/a> star Charity Pierce has died at the age of 50. The reality star’s heartbroken daughter, Charly Jo, confirmed the devastating news this week, taking to social media to lead tributes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was revealed that Charity had been in hospice care for a month or two while battling serious health issues<\/a>, including lymphedema and fluid build-up in her lungs. In an emotional Facebook<\/a> post, Charly announced that her mum had died surrounded by her loved ones, adding that she is now “finally at peace.”<\/p>\n

She wrote: “My mom passed away today. She’s up there with her momma and brother and sister, and she’s finally at peace. Charity fly high, momma.”<\/p>\n

Alongside a photo holding her mother’s hand, Charly added: “I hope you know how much I love you and how grateful I was to be able to be by your side while you took your last breath,” reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Charity gained recognition and won the hearts of TLC viewers in season three of My 600-lb Life<\/a>, where she sought help with severe obesity<\/a> after struggling with food addiction, health complications and emotional trauma.<\/p>\n

At her heaviest, she weighed nearly 800 pounds before seeking professional help, but achieved significant progress in her journey with substantial weight loss<\/a> and skin removal surgery. However, Charity also experienced setbacks with infections and continued to face ongoing health challenges, which she disclosed during an episode of My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now?<\/p>\n

According to a source via TMZ, Charity had been receiving hospice care due to ongoing medical issues with lymphedema and fluid accumulation in her lungs, which reportedly played a part in her tragic death.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the reality star disclosed other health problems she was dealing with and announced a kidney cancer<\/a> diagnosis that necessitated surgery. She also pledged to lose enough weight to visit her mother, who was battling brain cancer.<\/p>\n

Sadly, her mother passed away before Charity was well enough to travel, and as she was recuperating from her own gastric bypass operation, she couldn’t attend the funeral.<\/p>\n

In a 2020 Facebook post, Charity updated her followers: “To update everyone.. I found out at Christmas<\/a> time that I have kidney cancer. It devastated me bc my mom passed away from brain cancer.<\/p>\n

“So, since Christmas, I’ve had high anxiety and lots of panic attacks. After lots of testing and a million doctor appointments, they figured out the cancer was only in my kidney.<\/p>\n

“The next step was to get my kidney removed as soon as possible before it had a chance to spread to other organs in my body. So on March 2, my kidney was removed. And now I’m recovering at home, trying to heal. I just hope the future has something good in store.”<\/p>\n
