Prince Edward’s absence from King Charles’s premiere of the monarch’s new documentary has been explained.<\/p>\n

The Duke of Edinburgh was in attendance at the Tower of London for the unveiling of The King’s Champion’s Coronation Armour.<\/p>\n

Edward, 61, joined an auditorium for the acquisition of a complete suit of Maximilian-style armour, dating around the 1500s.<\/p>\n

The royal armoury was provided thanks to funding from the National Heritage Memorial Fund.<\/p>\n

The Royal Armouries Museum said: “It’s the only armour known to have been worn by a champion at a British coronation.<\/p>\n

“Last night, it was officially unveiled with His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh as our honoured guest.”<\/p>\n

Edward’s wife, Sophie, was at the premiere of the King’s environmental documentary<\/a> at Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n

She was joined at the event by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, as well as King Charles and Queen Camilla.<\/p>\n

The Waterloo Chamber at Windsor Castle was turned into a lavish cinema for one of the most glamorous royal events in recent memory.<\/p>\n

Sophie made a sustainable fashion statement by recycling a striking emerald-green Galvan Margot silk-satin midi dress she had previously worn to a London film premiere six years earlier.<\/p>\n

The elegant gown, originally priced at \u00a31,350, featured a flattering high neckline and ankle-skimming hemline.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old mother of two accessorised with brown Prada heels and an \u00a38,370 diamond bracelet from Chopard.<\/p>\n

Beneditch Cumberbatch attended, as did Dame Judi Dench, Alan Titchmarsh and Sir Rod Stewart.<\/p>\n

The documentary, set to be released on Prime Video next month, focuses on the King’s environmental campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He hopes there will be greater awareness of the issue, with a “need to bring things back together again”.<\/p>\n

In new footage, the King said: “I just felt this was the approach that I was going to stick to.
