The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/newsroom\/2026\/01\/apple-reports-first-quarter-results\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">company announced the news<\/a> as part of its Q1 2026 earnings report, which also revealed record-breaking revenue of $143.8 billion, up 16 percent when compared to the same time last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">\u201cThe demand for iPhone was simply staggering, with revenue growing 23 percent year over year,\u201d Apple CEO Tim Cook says during a call with investors. \u201cThis is the strongest iPhone lineup we\u2019ve ever had, and by far the most popular.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The \u201chigh levels\u201d of demand for the iPhone 17 have led to a \u201cconstrained\u201d supply, according to Cook. He adds that the company is \u201cseeing less flexibility in the supply chain\u201d when it comes to the availability of the advanced process nodes that it uses to build the device\u2019s chip. Meanwhile, Apple\u2019s services revenue, which includes subscriptions like Apple Music, iCloud, and Apple TV, surged 14 percent year over year, while Mac and wearable revenue were down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">In the coming months, Apple will bring promised AI-powered personalization features to Siri. Apple is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/860521\/apple-siri-google-gemini-ai-personalization\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">partnering with Google<\/a> to power this upgrade, which will use a custom version of Google\u2019s Gemini AI model.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The company is also acquiring <a href=\"http:\/\/q.ai\" rel=\"nofollow\">an AI startup, called Q.ai<\/a>, for $2 billion, according to the Financial Times.
