{"id":398116,"date":"2026-01-30T04:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T04:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/398116\/"},"modified":"2026-01-30T04:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T04:46:09","slug":"max-dowman-arsenal-teenager-signs-scholarship-terms-gunners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/398116\/","title":{"rendered":"Max Dowman: Arsenal teenager signs scholarship terms Gunners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/teams\/arsenal\" class=\"ssrcss-eyo3xn-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arsenal<\/a> teenager Max Dowman has signed a scholarship contract with the Premier League club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">BBC Sport reported in October that the academy graduate had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/c1e3g0xjwnwo\" class=\"ssrcss-eyo3xn-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">agreed the contract<\/a> which will see him move from schoolboy to scholarship terms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">At 15 years and 234 days, he became the second-youngest player to represent the Gunners and the second-youngest to play in the Premier League &#8211; with team-mate Ethan Nwaneri, currently on loan at Marseille, holding both records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Dowman has since turned 16 and his new contract has now been completed. He is expected to sign his first professional contract when he turns 17 in December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The news is a huge boost to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/teams\/arsenal\" class=\"ssrcss-eyo3xn-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arsenal<\/a> given Dowman&#8217;s standing as one of the most sought after young players in European football.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Dowman has made five senior appearances this season but has spent a period out with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Arsenal teenager Max Dowman has signed a scholarship contract with the Premier League club.
