The invaluable work of The Cart Shed has been given a major boost, thanks to a \u00a35,000 donation from The Cadbury Foundation, made possible by the support of local Mondel\u0113z International employees. <\/p>\n
Based in north Herefordshire, The Cart Shed is a community charity that strives to transform the lives of those experiencing mental health issues or emotional imbalances, by providing a range of enriching woodland activities to empower young people to self-manage their physical and mental health.<\/p>\n
Each year, Mondel\u0113z International employees from across the country are invited to put forward wellbeing-focused charities or projects that are close to their heart, with a selection of organisations receiving a generous grant. Last year saw The Cadbury Foundation reach a significant milestone, with more than \u00a31 million donated to support local communities since the programme began. <\/p>\n
The Cart Shed was one of 12 charities selected across the UK to receive a \u00a35,000 donation from The Cadbury Foundation, as part of its annual \u2018Your Charity Your Choice\u2019 programme. <\/p>\n
The \u00a35,000 donation made to The Cart Shed will enable the charity to continue delivering its vital work, ensuring that local people have access to wellbeing sessions, can build confidence and develop healthy coping strategies to create brighter futures.<\/p>\n
Rob Beavan, Senior Process Engineer at Mondel\u0113z International\u2019s site in Marlbrook, nominated the charity to receive the grant, which received backing from wider colleagues. <\/p>\n
Rob comments: \u201cThe Cart Shed does brilliant work with adults and young people in Herefordshire. I know this generous grant will have an incredibly positive impact. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s great that my nomination was backed by my colleagues, and to know that the donation will help the charity continue to deliver its fantastic services.\u201d <\/p>\n
Katie Eastaugh, CEO at The Cart Shed, said: \u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to receive this generous donation, and we\u2019re honoured to have been chosen by Rob and his colleagues at the Marlbrook site.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis donation will help us fund our Bursary Scheme, which will enable those who do not meet funding criteria elsewhere to be able to access our services and benefit from time in the woods, making a real difference to the lives of the adults we work with.<\/p>\n
As part of The Cadbury Foundation\u2019s annual \u2018Your Charity Your Choice\u2019 scheme last year, a total of \u00a360,000 was donated to charities, projects and clubs across the country, including The Cart Shed, which took the organisation\u2019s total donation figure to over \u00a31 million. <\/p>\n
The Cadbury Foundation also celebrated its 90th anniversary last year, having been established in 1935 in recognition of Richard and George Cadbury and their investment in the welfare of their employees and the local community. <\/p>\n
Kelly Farrell, community affairs manager at Mondel\u0113z International, added: \u201cOur \u2018Your Charity Your Choice\u2019 scheme was set up to support important causes and charities close to our employees\u2019 hearts, and we\u2019re incredibly proud that for thirteen years, the programme has done exactly that. <\/p>\n
