A Gold Coast developer and former Melbourne Storm player has died suddenly at a Burleigh Heads gym.<\/p>\n

The Gold Coast Bulletin reported Tye Alroe, 39, was exercising at Forever Fitness Gym on Tuesday when he suffered a heart attack and could not be revived.<\/p>\n

Mr Alroe is survived by his partner Nikki, daughter Poppy, his parents Vicki and John, and sister Courtney.<\/p>\n

The developer had a brief stint with the Melbourne Storm in 2002, but never made his NRL debut, instead chasing his passion for building and construction.<\/p>\n

He went on to form his own construction business before founding development company Alroe in 2012.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first job in construction taught me the importance of hard work, resilience and immersing myself in every aspect of the construction process \u2013 I learned quite quickly the significance of having a strong work ethic,\u201d he told Ocean Road Magazine earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am really grateful for where I am today. Alroe has grown into a strong, trusted company, and I\u2019m really proud of the work we\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friends and colleagues paid tribute to Mr Alroe on social media, describing him as an incredible human.<\/p>\n

Rob Bailey said he had nothing but respect and love for Mr Alroe, who was driven, passionate and positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll our thoughts and love go to his family and our condolences,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease everyone, if you\u2019re feeling a bit off, get to the doctor and make sure everything is okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Construction industry figure Steve Hunt told the Bulletin Mr Alroe was a \u201crising star\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cTye was an exceptional businessman and an even better bloke,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was one of the rising stars of the Gold Coast development industry and was very well respected by all within the industry, including builders, tradespeople and contractors.<\/p>\n
