{"id":399843,"date":"2026-01-31T02:23:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-31T02:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/399843\/"},"modified":"2026-01-31T02:23:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-31T02:23:11","slug":"cumberland-infirmary-leaves-pfi-contract-early","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/399843\/","title":{"rendered":"Cumberland Infirmary leaves PFI contract early"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The first NHS hospital in the UK to be built under private finance initiative (PFI) has ended the contract put in place for its construction and maintenance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle cost \u00a367m and was built and run through a  scheme agreed under Tony Blair&#8217;s Labour government.
