Canelo Alvarez<\/a> has offered his thoughts on Teofimo Lopez<\/a> vs Shakur Stevenson<\/a>, which takes place in the early hours of tomorrow morning at Madison Square Garden, New York.<\/p>\n

Lopez will make the fourth defence of his WBO super-lightweight strap, having previously retained it against Jamaine Ortiz, Steve Claggett and Arnold Barboza Jr.<\/p>\n

It was a truly dominant performance that saw him dethrone Josh Taylor<\/a>, back in 2023, and become a two-weight world champion after defeating Vasyl Lomachenko at 135lbs.<\/p>\n

Those two fights undoubtedly brought the best out of Lopez, who has struggled to produce the same fireworks in his more recent outings.<\/p>\n

Stevenson, meanwhile, is looking to become a four-division world champion, having made three successful defences of his WBC belt at 135lbs.<\/p>\n

The most recent of which saw him outpoint William Zepeda<\/a>, a high-volume pressure fighter, with a polished but no less assertive performance in July.<\/p>\n

Previously, Stevenson has claimed notable victories over the likes of Oscar Valdez and Jamel Herring, but a win over Lopez would surely represent his greatest achievement thus far.<\/p>\n

It is such an intriguing matchup, in fact, that several members of the boxing fraternity, including former undisputed super-middleweight king Canelo, have struggled to select a winner.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Fight Hub TV<\/a>, the Mexican, who has previously trained alongside Lopez, insisted that both fighters have an equal chance of emerging victorious.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s 50\/50, so it\u2019s going to be a good fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
