David Benavidez<\/a> is currently preparing for one big fight but could seemingly have another on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Benavidez was a two-time super-middleweight world champion and is the reigning WBC light heavyweight champion, making his first defence of the belt in November<\/a> when he stopped Anthony Yarde in the seventh round of their clash.<\/p>\n

He is now set to move up a division to 200lbs to face unified WBA and WBO cruiserweight titleholder Gilberto Ramirez<\/a>, in a bid to become a three-weight world champion.<\/p>\n

While Benavidez will have his current focus firmly on the task at hand against Ramirez, a pound-for-pound star has revealed his intention to take on \u2018The Mexican Monster.\u2019<\/p>\n

Dmitry Bivol is the man in question, after he explained to Fight Hub TV<\/a> about his willingness to take on either Artur Beterbiev in their trilogy, or Benavidez next.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to come back and if people want to see the trilogy, I would like to show it. If people want to see Benavidez, let\u2019s do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bivol also confirmed he would be happy for a fight against \u2018The Mexican Monster\u2019 to take place at cruiserweight, after revealing his desire to step up in weight.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor myself also I want to move up and try another weight class to have more achievements, we will see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bivol was last in action in February 2025 when he defeated Beterbiev to become undisputed light heavyweight champion, but after vacating the WBC belt that Benavidez now holds, injury has meant the Russian has had to remain on the sidelines ever since then.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"David Benavidez is currently preparing for one big fight but could seemingly have another on the horizon.
