{"id":404723,"date":"2026-02-03T00:31:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T00:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/404723\/"},"modified":"2026-02-03T00:31:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T00:31:06","slug":"dmitry-bivols-hit-list-includes-mega-rematch-and-fight-against-undefeated-monster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/404723\/","title":{"rendered":"Dmitry Bivol&#8217;s hit list includes mega rematch and fight against undefeated monster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/dmitry-bivol\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dmitry Bivol<\/a> has revealed his most desirable options at 175lbs while, at the same time, expressing his interest in a potential jump up to cruiserweight.<\/p>\n<p>The unified world champion has not fought since his <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/dmitrii-bivol-claims-undisputed-crown-with-majority-decision-over-artur-beterbiev\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">majority decision victory over Artur Beterbiev<\/a> in February 2025, back when he exacted his revenge to become the undisputed light-heavyweight king.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after, a long process of undergoing and recovering from back surgery meant that he was forced to vacate his WBC title, rather than defend it against his then-mandatory challenger David Benavidez.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Benavidez is now the full WBC champion while Bivol, who must now take care of his IBF mandatory obligation, is expected to return to action against Michael Eifert later this year.<\/p>\n<p>But while Eifert represents a solid opponent, especially after more than a year out the ring, Bivol equally acknowledges that his most lucrative opportunities are likely to emerge towards the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>One such matchup could be an undisputed showdown with Benavidez, who is first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/47592603\/sources-david-benavidez-fight-gilberto-ramirez-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">set to collide with unified world cruiserweight champion Gilberto Ramirez in May<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Besides that, the 35-year-old has told <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/xij1UpIZdBI?si=8sOBBlSIbF2QLt8e\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fight Hub TV<\/a> that a trilogy fight with Beterbiev, or even a rematch with Canelo Alvarez \u2013 who he outpointed in 2022 \u2013 could both present themselves as possible options.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps more surprisingly, though, Bivol has also hinted at a potential move up in weight, seemingly targeting cruiserweight world champions Jai Opetaia, Noel Mikaelian and the winner of Ramirez vs Benavidez.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy not this year? [Benavidez is] an option for us. Benavidez, Beterbiev, you mentioned Canelo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, in my head, I would like to move up to get the chance to fight for another belt, in another weight class.
