Matthew Devine in action for Connacht<\/p>\n
Ulster have strengthen their half-back options for next season with the signing of Connacht scrum-half Matthew Devine on a one-year deal.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old will make the switch from Galway to Belfast this summer, committing to the province until at least 2027 as Ulster continue their squad reshaping under Richie Murphy.<\/p>\n
Devine, a Ballinasloe native, is a graduate of Connacht\u2019s academy system and has already made his mark at senior level, scoring three tries this season.<\/p>\n
His arrival will see him reunited him with Murphy, who coached Devine during Ireland\u2019s memorable U20 Grand Slam campaign in 2022, while Ulster backs coach Mark Sexton also knows the scrum-half well from his time at Connacht.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m delighted to sign with Ulster Rugby and can\u2019t wait to make the move up north,\u201d Devine said.<\/p>\n

Ulster general manager Rory Best believes the province has secured one of the brightest young No 9s in the country.<\/p>\n
