“I’ve been inundated with messages from former patients who recognised me,” revealed the influencer, who boasts 134,000 Instagram followers @\u200csaraahlloyd. “I really wasn’t expecting it but I actually find it quite sweet and funny.<\/p>\n
“I’ve also received messages from colleagues, which gives me quite the laugh. Whether I reply depends on what type of message they send and how they treated me back then.<\/p>\n
“If they’re rude or cross a boundary, I’ll put them on my ‘mute’ list – but most of the time, I’ll reply because I like sharing my new life with people. I don’t really care if people are shocked by what I do now because I am happier than I ever was in my old job and I’m making enough money to live the life I’ve always wanted.”<\/p>\n

Sarah launched her profile three years back as a supplementary income stream whilst maintaining her healthcare career. Back then, she wasn’t particularly concerned about being discovered since the platform wasn’t “as big as it is now”.<\/p>\n
She explained: “I was working 20-hour days and it was really tough, because I felt constantly exhausted and emotionally drained. I loved helping people but the workload wasn’t sustainable. I felt like I had nothing left for myself.<\/p>\n
“When I started it, I would wake up early, post some photos or videos, reply to my fans and do admin – all before doing a full shift at my day job. I used any free moment at work to go through emails and messages online.<\/p>\n
“When my shift ended, I’d walk back home and do more content all night. It was crazy.<\/p>\n
“The turning point came when I was on a holiday in Europe; I took four weeks off and did loads of content, and that’s when I realised I didn’t need to keep on nursing. It was a huge decision but I wanted to put my real passion first.”<\/p>\n

Sarah, who originates from Australia’s Gold Coast, has contemplated returning to her medical profession down the line, but currently, the independence her modelling venture offers remains her priority.<\/p>\n
She continued: “It is always a possibility but I really like the freedom of being able to work for myself – even though I do work literally 24\/7.<\/p>\n
“I probably do the same amount or more hours than I did as a nurse but the difference is that I am in control. I’m on my own time and I can work from anywhere.<\/p>\n
“Content creation also allows me to express myself and make connections with like-minded people from all over the world, which I love.”<\/p>\n
