Swansea City is delighted to announce the signing of Leo Walta from IK Sirius, subject to the relevant approval.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder joins on loan until the end of the season, and he will complete a permanent move for an undisclosed fee on July 1, 2026, subject to conditions.<\/p>\n
Walta will wear the number 21 shirt for the Swans.<\/p>\n
The exciting Finland international enjoyed an outstanding 2025 Allsvenskan campaign, scoring 16 goals and creating three more in 30 top-flight appearances.<\/p>\n
Walta, who was a target for a number of clubs, will add to head coach Vitor Matos\u2019 technical and creative options in advanced areas.<\/p>\n
In total Walta has contributed 23 league goals in just 59 league appearances for Sirius, and he has 10 Finland caps to his name.<\/p>\n
He started his career in the youth ranks with HJK Helsinki, and went on to have trials with the likes of PSV Eindhoven and Bayern Munich as a teenager.<\/p>\n
Walta joined FC Nordsj\u00e6lland at the age of 16 and impressed in their age-grade sides before making the step up to senior level in 2021.<\/p>\n
Productive loan spells with Danish club HB Koge and Mjallby followed before he joined Sirius in March 2024, going on to mark himself out as one of the most exciting young talents in Scandinavian football.<\/p>\n
