{"id":406346,"date":"2026-02-03T22:21:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T22:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/406346\/"},"modified":"2026-02-03T22:21:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T22:21:14","slug":"dave-allen-makes-early-knockout-prediction-for-wilder-vs-chisora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/406346\/","title":{"rendered":"Dave Allen makes &#8216;early knockout&#8217; prediction for Wilder vs Chisora"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dave Allen is anticipating an early finish when former world champion <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/deontay-wilder\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deontay Wilder<\/a> collides with heavyweight veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/derek-chisora\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Derek Chisora<\/a> on April 4.<\/p>\n<p>It was announced last week that <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/derek-chisora-vs-deontay-wilder-official\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the pair will headline a Misfits Pro and Queensberry card in London<\/a>, with both of them entering their 50th professional outing.<\/p>\n<p>Not so long ago, it appeared as though Wilder was set to face bona fide heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk, but \u2018The Bronze Bomber\u2019 must now prepare himself for a vastly different matchup altogether.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old comes off a relatively uninspiring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/45601020\/deontay-wilder-stops-tyrrell-herndon-return-ring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">seventh round finish over Tyrrell Herndon<\/a> in June, which followed his back-to-back defeats against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.<\/p>\n<p>Against Parker, the American failed to unleash his trademark power, and that was again outlined during Zhang\u2019s fifth-round stoppage victory.<\/p>\n<p>One man who certainly seems to think Wilder\u2019s power may be gone is British heavyweight Allen, who, having previously sparred with Chisora, believes that Wilder is likely to find himself on the receiving end of an early stoppage.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on his <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Ng-STx-GjvM?si=s0sSBz4W7ZZWLSAx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube channel<\/a>, Allen put forward the opinion that, despite being two years older, Chisora is the more serviceable customer at this stage of their careers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWilder, I just don\u2019t think he has anything left. You would think, for a guy that can punch, Chisora\u2019s a good match, because Chisora will walk on to you and he\u2019s there to be hit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Wilder, I just don\u2019t think he can pull the trigger no more. Of course he can still punch\u2026 But [Chisora\u2019s] not that easy to hit because you have to worry about him hitting you back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think seven or eight years ago, Wilder would\u2019ve had the speed and the want to really hit Derek, and I think he would\u2019ve stopped him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut even at 42 [years old], I think [Chisora] has got a lot more left than Wilder.
