In a new social media post, the swimsuit babe shows off her forever-young figure in a skimpy swimsuit while sharing snaps of her season so far. \u201c\u200b\u200bSummer loving \u2600\ufe0fFeels great to finally have a moment to reset. Fresh air, family time, movement, good food,\u201d she captioned the Instagram photos. How does the star manage to look half her age? Here are some of her diet and fitness tips.<\/p>\n<p>Kate maintains that changing her approach to fitness in her 40s made a big difference. She started training Brian Nguyen, who has her lifting weights. \u201cWhen (Brian and I) started working together, one of the things I never did was strength training, that was something I never realized was a huge part missing,\u201d Hudson told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/diet-fitness\/kate-hudson-high-protein-diet-strength-training-food-tracker-rcna132308\">Today<\/a>. Hip and glute bridges, planks, bodyweight squats, and lunges are part of her routine. According to the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/healthy-lifestyle\/fitness\/in-depth\/strength-training\/art-20046670\">Mayo Clinic<\/a>, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:<\/p>\n<p>Develop strong bones<br \/>\nManage your weight<br \/>\nEnhance your quality of life<br \/>\nManage chronic conditions<br \/>\nSharpen your thinking skills<\/p>\n<p>Kate maintains that \u201ctuning in\u201d to her body was a game changer. \u201cIf you\u2019re tuned in and your body tells you, it really does speak to you,\u201d she told Today. \u201cOne day, I tuned in and I was like \u2026 I don\u2019t feel strong, I feel long and I love my Pilates but as I get older\u2026 am I doing enough (strength) exercises?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hudson shifted her approach to diet after 40 and became more protein-focused. \u201cFood is everything,\u201d she says. \u201cThe food we eat is fuel for our body,\u201d she added. \u201cWe, especially women, should really be eating more protein, especially in the morning.\u201d According to <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/32699189\/\">clinical trials<\/a>, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson recommends tracking food. She uses MyFitnessPal. \u201cFood is 80% of the challenge \u2026 and tracking it, knowing it, understanding it, and having the knowledge is something I\u2019m passionate about,\u201d she said. She revealed that while shooting Something Borrowed in 2011, she was on a raw food diet. \u201cIt was trendy at the time to eat raw, but I gained maybe 10 to 15 pounds and I didn\u2019t understand what was happening because I thought I was eating so healthy and I cut out meat,\u201d she said. \u201cI started tracking, and (realized) I was eating about 3,000 calories of just nuts \u2026 If I didn\u2019t have access to understand (that), I would have never known,\u201d Hudson adds.<\/p>\n<p>Kate has been doing yoga for decades \u201cIt\u2019s about understanding your own individual likes, not fads,\u201d she told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.self.com\/story\/world-according-to-kate-hudson\">SEL<\/a>F. \u201cAnything you do helps.
