\n\tEmerald Fennell<\/a>\u2018s hotly anticipated adaptation of Emily Bront\u00eb\u2019s classic, and very hot, novel Wuthering Heights<\/a> had its first few screenings for press on Tuesday, and the early reaction suggests the film starring objectively hot Aussie pair of Margot Robbie<\/a> and Jacob Elordi<\/a> is, well, hot.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile official, full, critics reviews for Wuthering Heights are embargoed till closer to the film\u2019s Feb. 13 release date, Warner Bros. Pictures allowed press to release social media reaction to screenings this week.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film, based on Bront\u00eb\u2019s 1847 book, is set on the windswept moors of West Yorkshire and tells the story of Catherine Earnshaw (Robbie) and her turbulent relationship with the dashing Heathcliff (Elordi). Written for the screen and directed by Fennell, the cast includes Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes and Ewan Mitchell.<\/p>\n

\n\tWuthering Heights has been adapted for the screen dozens of times over the last century. The most notable feature adaptations include William Wyler\u2019s 1939 film (starring Merle Oberon as Catherine and Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff); Robert Fuest\u2019s 1970 take (starring Timothy Dalton as Heathcliff and Anna Calder-Marshall as Catherine); Peter Kosminsky\u2019s 1992 adaptation (starring Juliette Binoche as both Catherine and her daughter, and Ralph Fiennes as Heathcliff); and Andrea Arnold\u2019s 2011 film (starring Kaya Scodelario as Catherine and James Howson as Heathcliff).<\/p>\n

\n\tWuthering Heights is Fennell\u2019s third film as director, following the critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning Promising Young Woman (2020) and the pop culture phenomenon and BAFTA nominated Saltburn (2023). <\/p>\n
