\n 1 The Square, Ramsbury was a 4,000 sq ft two-storey office for Susie Watson Designs from 2017 until September 2025, when the company opened a new shop in Marlborough High Street, taking its staff with it.\n<\/p>\n
\n In December 2025 working began on converting the office into a residential property – currently valued at \u00a32.3 million.\n<\/p>\n
\n But because the property is in the North Wessex Downs Natural Landscape – an area of outstanding natural beauty – the company should have obtained planning permission from Wiltshire Council.\n<\/p>\n
\n An application seeking retrospective planning permission has now been filed by the authority, with a decision expected by the end of March.\n<\/p>\n
\n “There are no changes to the exterior of the building other than the removal of the previous Susie Watson Design signage,” the company’s agent has told the council.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The only alterations shown within the included drawings are minor adjustments to the room layout internally.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Susie Watson Designs is beloved by the country set and has 10 shops in market towns across the UK, including its headquarters in Marlborough High Street, which was formerly a branch of upmarket food store Eversfield Organics.\n<\/p>\n
\n Customers can expect to spend up to \u00a3140 on a hand-embroidered lampshade, while its most expensive cushions retail at \u00a3125.\n<\/p>\n
\n It has a factory in Lancashire, which makes upholstered furniture, and Yorkshire, where lambswool throws are woven.
