Hull FC are closing in on their next piece of retention with Harvey Barron<\/a> expected to sign an extended deal at the club.<\/p>\n The Black and Whites tied down Lewis Martin to a new five-year deal <\/a>earlier this month, keeping the winger at the club until the end of 2030. They are now wasting no time in extending the contact of their other flying winger.<\/p>\n Hull Live<\/a> understands that the Black and Whites have moved to secure a new deal for Barron, who is currently contracted until the end of next season and would be free to speak to rival clubs from December this year. They have opened talks with the player regarding his long-term future and are now expected to extend the players deal by a further two years in what would be another major retention boost to the club.<\/p>\n Both Martin and Barron excelled for Hull last season under head coach John Cartwright<\/a>, who believes the duo have the talent and capability to kick on and play for England one day.<\/p>\n \u201cI think they certainly have the ability and I know they have the makeup too, as far as they work really hard on their game,\u201d Cartwright said. \u201cI know they want to represent their country and play at the highest possible level. They certainly cover many areas.\u201d<\/p>\n Barron debuted for Hull<\/a> away at Toulouse Olympique back in 2022 and has gone on to play 43 times for the club, scoring 24 tries. He was handed the number two shirt last year and alongside Martin, is now one of the best young players in Super League.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Hull have 11 players out of contract at the end of 2026. They are Yusuf Aydin, Tom Briscoe (one-year club option), Jed Cartwright, Lennon Clark, Roman Dawson, Brad Fash, Zak Hardaker (one-year option), Ben Johnson, Liam Knight, Hugo Salabio and Ligi Sao.
