A UK household supplies and personal care products company has collapsed into administration<\/a>. The Manchester-based firm<\/a> was founded in 1995, but administrators have now been appointed in a bid to save it.<\/p>\n

MPM Consumers Product Ltd appointed administrators Mike Dillon and Andrew Knowles, both of Leonard Curtis, on Friday, January 30. According to the company’s website, it is a “specialised contract liquid fill manufacturer of household<\/a> and personal care products”. They add: “We are huge supporters of British manufacturing and believe ‘Made in England’ means miles less carbon.”<\/p>\n

However, it has now been confirmed that the company is in administration. The company had around 80 staff as of 2022, according to PitchBook.<\/p>\n

During the same year, MPM Consumer Products Ltd secured a \u00a3500,000 loan from NPIF – FW Capital Debt Finance. The money was aimed at accelerating their growth plans, creating jobs, developing services and strengthening the existing workforce.<\/p>\n

The company produced items for brands including By My Beard, Dr J’s and Certex. They operated from 12 automated production lines and 10 semi-automatic fillers.<\/p>\n

Its website adds: “We produce some leading UK brands for major retailers with personal care products such as handwash, bodywash, foam & cr\u00e8me bath, creams and lotions as well as household lines like antiseptic disinfectant and sterilising fluid plus much more.<\/p>\n

“MPM offers both their own products, which can be recognised in the UK high street, and can produce customers’ own labelled products under their own livery from concept through to manufacturing. We also have our own graphic department available for individual brand identity.”<\/p>\n

The news of the company’s collapse follows confirmation that a number of other firms have filed for administration so far in 2026. It was reported that 19 firms entered administration<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n

Employees of the companies are now facing redundancy. Some have already lost their jobs as firms struggle with rising costs, mounting debts and a fall in consumer spending.<\/p>\n

Data shows that 1,631 UK businesses filed for administration in 2025. While this figure represents a 5% decrease compared with 2024, it remains 22% higher than in 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A UK household supplies and personal care products company has collapsed into administration.
