{"id":414275,"date":"2026-02-08T08:16:15","date_gmt":"2026-02-08T08:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/414275\/"},"modified":"2026-02-08T08:16:15","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T08:16:15","slug":"bare-knuckle-maryports-bartek-kanabeys-next-bkfc-fight-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/414275\/","title":{"rendered":"Bare-knuckle: Maryport&#8217;s Bartek Kanabey&#8217;s next BKFC fight confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The Maryport-based boxer will be on the card at BKFC Fight Night Newcastle next month.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Kanabey, nicknamed &#8216;The Polish Plough&#8217;, will take on Jeff Saunders in a featherweight contest.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It will be a fifth fight on the major BKFC platform for 28-year-old Kanabey, who has two wins and two defeats from his four BKFC contests to date.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Kanabey, who trains at Just Grind in Workington, earned his chance with the BKFC after impressing with title victories at the west Cumbrian WBKB shows.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He went on to defeat Shaun Kissane and Bakhtyor Kudratov in his first two BKFC fights, before losing to Jack Culshaw and Lewis Garside in his next two outings.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He will now go up against BKFC debutant Saunders at Newcastle&#8217;s Utilita Arena on Saturday, March 14.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The Polish-born fighter, in his previous BKFC fights, has walked to the ring draped in a half-Polish half-Cumbrian flag.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Opponent Saunders, from Sedgefield, County Durham, is a former professional boxer and amateur champion, and an ex-paratrooper.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Kanabey will be the second Cumbrian to feature on the BKFC Fight Night Newcastle card.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Also in action will be Carlisle bantamweight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsandstar.co.uk\/news\/25817044.bare-knuckle-carlisles-kieron-sewell-v-lewis-garside-newcastle\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kieron Sewell, who faces a title eliminator bout against Lewis Garside.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Maryport-based boxer will be on the card at BKFC Fight Night Newcastle next month.
