(Supplied: TAZZIP)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Access would be via a car park at Halls Saddle, before visitors are driven to the launch tower along Chimney Pot Hill Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The plans \u2014 sent out by planning consultants All Urban Planning \u2014 state that assessments have been done on noise, natural values, traffic, visual impacts and geotechnical issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;The zip-line infrastructure and activity areas will be located more than 180 metres from the closest residence, helping minimise impacts to nearby properties,&#8221; it reads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Developers aim to use &#8220;existing disturbed areas&#8221;, avoid &#8220;unnecessary vegetation removal&#8221; and to have the landscape as the main visual element.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The plans also state it avoids crossing walking and mountain bike trails.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It will be submitted to the council as a development application &#8220;shortly&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">TAZZIP managing director Shane Abel would not comment as the proposal has not yet reached council for assessment.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A man stands in a forest clearing.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/562d975b0e617bae5d4b64fdb58a095c.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Shane Abel described the prervious proposal as the &#8220;longest, fastest and highest zip-line in the Asia-Pacific&#8221;. Documents reveal growing tension over how a government review is progressing, with a cable car and &#8216;all-weather&#8217; solutions part of the debate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Hobart council staff recommended its approval however, arguing that it could be defined as &#8220;transport depot and distribution&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">In the mountain&#8217;s management plan, an &#8220;aerial ropeway&#8221; fits under this definition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">But the majority of councillors rejected this, arguing that it was a tourism development rather than for transport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It was also opposed by members of the Aboriginal community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It was knocked back by six votes to four.
