The Super Bowl has been sensationally overshadowed by a war of words between US President Donald Trump and headline acts, including headliner Bad Bunny, who used the platform provided by his half-time performance to slam Trump.<\/p>\n
At the end of the performance, Bad Bunny named all of the Latin countries in America, as well as Canada and the United States, in what was seen as an anti-Trump message, sparking a big reaction from viewers.<\/p>\n
He also showed an American football which read “Together, we are America”. A huge sign also said in the background: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”<\/p>\n
Trump hit back a few minutes later with a post on his Truth Social platform where he raged at the way America’s most significant annual sporting event had been handled.<\/p>\n
Trump said: “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!<\/p>\n
“It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.<\/p>\n
“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country.”<\/p>\n
In response to the Bad Bunny performance, one fan said: “I don’t follow Bad Bunny, but if he keeps doing things like ‘god bless Am\u00e9rica, desde Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Per\u00fa,.. etc etc\u2026’, and he takes advantage of the public space right there in ‘Am\u00e9rica’, on Trump’s orange square to say it, then yes.”<\/p>\n
Another added: “It’s not my kind of music but it was a good show and as expected, anti-Trump message.”<\/p>\n
A third penned: “Wow, what a superlative and deeply emotional show from Bad Bunny alongside Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin\u2014a clear message to Trump’s populist far-right and a huge tribute to the Latin world. Well done. Even though I’m not really a fan of his, it genuinely moved me.”<\/p>\n
A fourth gushed: “This here, on American soil, right in the middle of the Trump administration, is way too strong. Bad Bunny is massive!”<\/p>\n
Regarding the music, the show seemed to spark a divided reaction, as some branded it “incredible”, while others said it was the “worst halftime show ever.”<\/p>\n
But one raged: “There is no crowd reaction for this halftime show.
